Apples Bed and Breakfast Inn, a Big Bear bed and breakfast, is a AAA 3-Diamond rated B&B, nestled on a wooded acre in the Moonridge area of Big Bear Lake. Set in the midst of an acre of pine trees in the pristine San Bernardino mountains of Southern California, we are only mile from the golf course, the lake, great fishing, as well as two major California ski resort.
Enjoy all Summer and Winter sports here in Big Bear including golf, boating, jet skiing, parasailing, fishing and swimming. In the Winter there is skiing, snow boarding, and sledding, and all year you can hike and enjoy the serenity of the forest, or a power walk on paved paths along the lake. The favorite thing our guests seem to enjoy is just relaxing in clear and clean air.
Apples was designed and built in 1993 for the discriminating B&B traveler. It has been owned and operated by its original owners - Jim and Barbara McLean. Located on a wooded acre of level grounds in the lower Moonridge area, we are 2 miles from the Village and 1 mile from either ski resort, the golf course, or the zoo. We are one of the highly rated B&B’s in Big Bear Lake. Our guest rooms have king sized beds, down bedding, private baths (4 with Jacuzzi tubs for 2), 2 reclining chairs, televisions with DVD and VCR capability, with covered porches across the front and back of the main house, as well as the garden buildings. We have a large selection of movies, games and books for you to borrow when all you want to do is spend the special alone time with that someone special.
Breakfast at Apples include an egg dish (such as Garden Vegetable Quiche, Herb and Cheese Scrambled Eggs, Spinach Feta and Tomato Strata, or Santa Fe Style Baked Eggs). Our bread courses are freshly baked every morning (just a few of our choices are Mixed Fruit White Chocolate Scones, Fresh Baked Biscuits, Blintz Pancakes, Banana Foster French Toasted Croissants, Crispy Cinnamon Swirl French Toast). We take extra care in preparing our own homemade syrups to slather over the top (Apples Cider, Caramel Orange, Boysenberry, Cinnamon Cream, or our decadent Pecan Praline Syrups). Every morning we also have a fresh baked muffin (our favorites are the Cranberry Pineapple Bran Muffin, Butterscotch Cinnamon Streusel, or the Chocolate Oatmeal Muffin).
Fresh cookies are available, and the snack and beverage bar is well stocked with soft drinks, ice, hot teas, hot chocolate, hot cider, and candies.
In the afternoon, enjoy a glass of Sparkling Apple Cider, cheeses, crackers, nuts, chocolate raisins and pretzels. After dinner, settle in with a steaming cup of coffee or tea, and our homemade desserts (to name a few of our favorites - Boston Cream Cupcakes, Chocolate Cherry Cake with Pecan Fudge Glaze, Banana Coconut Cream Pie, Pumpkin Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting, or Chocolate-Chocolate-Chocolate Cake Hot Bittersweet Fudge Sauce and whipped cream.
We also have free wireless high-speed broadband internet access throughout the property.
